How To Check Your Windshield Wiper Fluid Level

If you’re doing car maintenance, don’t forget to check your windshield wiper and its fluid level. Windshield wiper, as you all know, is an important tool especially in harsh weather. It washes and wipes the dirt or some lingering rain in your windshield, allowing you to have a good vision while driving.

Checking your wiper fluid levels is very easy. However, it is a task that most drivers often undermine. The fluid in your windshield wiper is not just water, it has a combination of solvent. This special mixture pumps onto the windshield to facilitate cleaning the glass. Here are the simple steps on how to check and change your windshield wiper fluid:

• Look at your car owner's manual and determine the exact location of your windshield fluid tank.
• Choose a good fluid mixture to put into your car’s windshield fluid reservoir.
• Prop up your car's hood and find the mark outside the fluid tank which shows the amount of fluid left in the tank. If the reservoir is half-full, you have nothing to add, just close the hood. If not, start removing the cap which is usually located at the top of the tank.
• At your owner's manual, the correct level of fluid is indicated. Add the right amount of washer fluid mixture into the tank. Then, put the cap back in its place and close your hood.
